Effluent transfer made easy
TRANSFERRING poul- try effluent, contami- nated with compressible solids, straw, feathers and other waste materi- als can be challenging.
Traditional long-column sump pumps are used for this application but can be susceptible to bearing wear.
Aussie Pumps has a cost effective, robust cast iron electric pump ideal for handling waste.
Called the Aussie B3KQ-A/ST, it is a 3” semi-trash pump that has the ability to handle con- taminated water.
Surface mounted, it is simple to service with a large front-mounted clean-out port.
This enables access to wash out the pump inter- nals without the need to disconnect the pipework or hoses.

duty cast iron.

A non-clog-style impel- ler means passing of com-
pressible solids is easy. The semi-trash pumps come with silicone car- bide mechanical seals with an alumina coun- terface and nitrile rubber
seals as standard.
A tungsten carbide Vi-
ton is also available.
All pumps feature a 316 stainless steel motor shaft and stainless steel wear plate to protect them from
erosion and body wear. The big pumps are pow- ered by 2.2kW single-pole electric motors with a 54IP rating against mois-
ture and dust ingress. Aussie Pumps says the best news for poultry op- erators is the low prices
for a top-quality product. All GMP pumps are made to ISO 9001 quality standards and warranted to be free of defects for
three years.

as bare shaft pumps for installation on existing engines or for convert- ing conventional electric- drive pumps to self-prim- ing semi-trash versions,” Bester said.
“We even do a hydrau- lic-drive pump for mobile applications.”
